Bersa Thunder 380 Plus Holsters

The success of the original Bersa Thunder 380 pistol led Bersa to introduce the Thunder 380 Plus version in 1998.

The Thunder 380 Plus is basically a higher-capacity version of the original Thunder 380. Where the original Thunder 380 featured a single-stack magazine with an 8+1 capacity of .380 ACP, the Plus version features a double-stack magazine with a 15+1 round capacity.

Aside from the double-stack magazine, the Thunder Plus and Thunder 380 have the exact dimensions and operational controls.

Some shooters, especially women or people with smaller hands, reported that the wider grip on the Plus model wasn’t as comfortable as the slimmer grip on the standard Thunder 380 models.

Aside from the wider grip on the Plus pistol, the other fairly noticeable difference between the Plus and standard Thunder models is the overall pistol weight when loaded. The standard Thunder pistol weighs approximately 22.3 ounces loaded, while the Plus mode weighs approximately 25.4 ounces loaded.

From a gun holster perspective, the Thunder 380 Plus will fit into a holster made for the standard Thunder 380, as the wider grip on the Plus model does not play a role in holster fit.

However, it should be noted that magazine carriers are a different story. The larger double-stack magazine of the Plus pistol will not fit into a magazine carrier made for the single-stack magazine found on the original Thunder 380. The Plus magazines require a magazine carrier made to accommodate their double-stack size.

Like the original Thunder model, popular holster options for the Plus pistol include IWB, OWB, and paddle models.

Any gun holster or magazine carrier models displayed above are available in a version to fit the Bersa Thunder 380 Plus pistols.
