Galco holsters was founded in 1969 by Richard Gallagher in Chicago, IL. It was originally called The Original Jackass Leather Company. In 1980, Gallagher decided to change the name to Galco International and moved the company to it's current location in Phoenix, AZ.
Today, Galco is one of the largest and most successful holster manufacturers in the world. They offer a complete line of holster products that include concealed carry, competition, military, and law enforcement.
Their concealed carry line is very large and they offer holster models for a large number of weapons. While they offer a wide variety of holster models, they are probably best known for their line of shoulder holsters models. These became popular almost overnight when Don Johnson, one the stars of the 1980's hit series "Miami Vice", started wearing one during the show. Galco isn't the cheapest gun holster manufacturer on the market, but good deals can be had if you shop around.
